Functional Capacity Evaluations
A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a comprehensive evaluation of
objective information on strength, flexibility, endurance, balance,
coordination and body mechanics to establish what the worker can safely
perform. This evaluation will last 3-5 hours. Typically, the FCE results are
compared to the duties listed on the worker's Job Description to see if a
match is made. A report is sent to the referring physican who will use this
data to determine a return-to-work plan.
